Byron Ward, a High Desert resident for 30 years and recently retired custom picture framer, lives in Spring Valley Lake with his wonderful wife of 45 years, Marie.  They have two grown children.  Catherine lives in Silver Lakes, and James is a probation officer in Tennessee.  Active in the Chamber of Commerce since 2013, Ignite is far and away his favorite Chamber activity, attending all ten Ignite High Desert events and speaking at five of them. Byron is also active with the local chapter of the Military Officers Association of America, the High Desert Chapter of the California Writer’s Club, the Spring Valley Lake Lions Club, and the SVL Yacht Club.

Byron was an enthusiastic participant in the hobby that is the subject of tonight’s Ignite talk, Big Gun Radio-Controlled Warship Combat, but the local Southern California club, the South Coast Battle Group, has tragically been defunct for many years.
